All about the Viewpoint Of The Desert, The Peak Of The Spider – Blue Well.

    General Description

The tour begins with a professional historical explanation of the architectural doctrine of the municipality, in the central plaza, the town’s olive tree park: the church, the atrial cross from the VXII century and the stone of the punishment; monumental vestiges of the past of Sáchica and the region, traces of the meeting of the worlds: Spanish and indigenous and evidence of the evangelization and the Spanish conquest that took place in these latitudes and that marks the beginning of the town in the style of the Spanish layout, a populated center where the local history and the identity of the community will be developed.

This beautiful natural viewpoint was formed from the geological and climatic processes of the Saquencipá Valley.
In the Candelaria Desert, we will travel along the mountain’s back, passing by the path or spider’s peak, the highest stretch of the road, where an ABORIGIN spider’s space known as the tiger spider proliferates; perfectly adapted to the dry tropical forest of the desert, these spiders weave their webs at the mercy of the wind, trapping different insects that constitute their diet. Throughout the tour we will be able to appreciate the cultural landscape of the valley, old haciendas, ranches, houses and peasant plots, their history and problems, also seeing the town of Villa De Leyva and the Iguaque mountain range; we will see the different crops and the hustle and bustle of the peasants, the beautiful wells of the desert and the rock formations and different vestiges of small marine animals of 250 million years ago, fossilized and scattered on the reddish surface.

It is a walk that will charge us with energy and vitality, we will breathe the pure air that descends through the mountains, we will cross small native forests, putting in activity and effort all our body and opening our minds to the past, present and future, in the middle of these millenary mountains and their hallucinating colors; if the conditions are given we will be able to bathe in one of the wells of the desert.
